Signing On
To sign on to Westlaw Business, type your username in the Username text box, your password in the Password text box, and a client identifier in the Client ID text box. Then click Sign On. For more information about usernames and passwords, see Password Maintenance.

Register to Create a Username and Password
New subscribers typically receive a Registration ID via e-mail within 24 hours after an order is received and processed. After receiving your Registration ID, follow these steps to create a Westlaw Business username and password.
- At the Westlaw Business Sign On page, click New User Register to create your username/password. The Manage My OnePass Account page is displayed.
- Type your registration ID in the Registration ID text box, then click Continue. The Register a Username and Password page is displayed.
- Enter the appropriate information — all fields must be completed. Then click Create Account.
- The Username and Password Registration Successful confirmation message is displayed. To return to the Sign On page, click Sign on to Westlaw Business.

Forgotten Username Using OnePass
If you have forgotten your username, click Change username/password at the Westlaw Business sign-on page. On the Manage my OnePass Account page, click Forgot your username under the User Name text box. On the Forgot Username page, type your e-mail address in the E-mail address text box, select a security question from the Security question drop-down list, and type the answer in the Your answer text box. Then click Continue. Your username will be sent to the e-mail address you entered.

If you have forgotten your password, click Forgot your password? on the Westlaw Business sign-on page. On the Forgot Password page, type your username in the Username text box, select a security question from the Security question drop-down list, type the answer in the Your answer text box, and type your e-mail address in the E-mail address text box. Then click Continue. Your password will be sent to the e-mail address you entered.

If you have forgotten your user name and/or your password, and you are not using OnePass, please contact Westlaw Business customer support at 1.800.669.1154.

Changing Username or Password
To change your username or password, click Change username/password at the Westlaw Business sign on page. On the next page, under Already have a West OnePass Account, type your current username in the User Name text box, your password in the Password text box, then click Continue. On the Web Profile page, under Personalized User Name and Password, type a new username in the Create a User Name text box. To change your password, type a new password in the Create a Password text box, and retype the new password in the Confirm Password text box. When your changes have been entered in the appropriate text boxes, click Submit.

Client ID
A client identifier is required to sign on to Westlaw Business. Use an identifier that effectively identifies your research session. You can change the client identifier any time during a research session by clicking Client ID at the top of any Westlaw Business page. Then type the new client identifier in the Enter Client ID text box and click Save.

Secure Access
On the Westlaw Business sign-on page, you can select a secure connection or open connection for your session.
- With a secure connection, the password, client ID, and entire session (from sign-on through sign-off) are encrypted using Secure Sockets Layers (SSL).
- With an open connection, only your password and client ID are encrypted using SSL at sign-on. The rest of the research session is not encrypted.
If the Secure Connection link is displayed on the Westlaw Business sign-on page, click it to change from open access to secure access. If the Open Connection link is displayed at the Westlaw Business sign-on page, click it to change from secure access to open access.
